These partly handmade candies are named after a folk instrument considered sacred by Estonians. The legendary Kannel chocolate candies from the mid-1970s hide a melt-in-the-mouth almond praline filling covered with a thick real chocolate glaze. The final finish - a light brown velvety appearance - is given by rolling the treat in cocoa beans mixed with sugar.
